Position: Theatre Volunteers
Organization: Urban Ink
Location: Vancouver BC

Join the cast and crew of Urban Ink’s Sedna for an unforgettable show!

This April 22nd–May 10th, join us for Sedna, a compelling outdoor musical told through large lantern puppets, about an Inuit woman grappling with an impending pipeline through her people’s territory. We invite you to help us bring to life this unique weave of contemporary Indigenous experience and traditional story.

We are seeking dynamic theatre-loving volunteers to aid with set-up, teardown, ushering, and concession. This show is entirely outdoors, and each performance will have a unique flair due to our ever-changing Vancouver weather. Volunteers should be prepared for their duties rain or shine—we will provide snacks, blankets, and rain ponchos!

In gratitude, volunteers will receive:

  • A ticket to the performance
  • An invitation to the pre-show Closing Night Volunteer Appreciation Party
  • Unique Urban Ink swag
  • Snacks during your shift

Volunteering with us is an excellent opportunity to be part of the conversation around climate justice, amplify Indigenous voices & stories, support the arts, make new friends, and build your resume!

**Please note volunteer duties include moving around hay bales, and thus volunteers should capable of some heavy lifting. The show is not friendly to those who have very sensitive hay allergies. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts (4hr each), and to attend a Volunteer Orientation session on Wednesday, April 8th (TBC).
