The Conservation Youth Corps (CYC) summer program is a volunteer program for high school students residing, or attending school in teh Credit River watershed. As a volunteer, you will spend your week on a crew of nine youth volunteers and be mentored by a Crew Leader. Your Crew Leader will pick you up each morning at 8:00am at a local high school and bring you to the work site. On Monday, training and orientation will take place at Terra Cotta Conservation Area. Tuesday through Friday are work days. Projects and locations change each day so you have the opportunity to see many different areas of the watershed and learn about a variety of environmental restoration projects. Projects may include tree planting, invasive species removal, urban farming, electro-fishing, habitat creation, trail maintenance, and more. Once the project is done, there may be time to explore a local Conservation Area, take a hike, or learn about local wildlife! At the end of the day, your Crew Leader will drop you off at 3:00pm at the same high school you were picked up at.
