Are you ready to flood the BCUC hearings, not the Peace Valley? We sure are! Please invite your friends!
This Saturday, the BCUC is open to public input about the Site C dam project. We need to make sure they hear us loud and clear, so we're meeting an hour early (12 pm) outside the hearings to get organized, then flooding the room with opposition to the dam.
We really encourage you to sign up to speak, but we also need folks to show up to wear our Stop Site C t-shirts, hold signs, and show the Cabinet that this decision is important to British Columbians, and that we're ready to hold them accountable.
Don't forget to register with the BCUC at http://www.sitecinquiry.com/public-community-input-sessions/.
Want to do more to help? Email morag forceofnaturealliance.ca* , and we'll get you set up to make calls from home encouraging other folks to come out to these hearings.
If you can't make this Saturday, then join us Thursday, Oct 5th for the next Vancouver hearing! (event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1713495542291448)
Address: 1125 Howe Street, 12th floor
The BC Utilities Commission (BCUC) is currently conducting an inquiry into the Site C dam. They will be considering the cost of building or suspending/terminating the project, alternatives to building the dam, and expected energy demand.
Following the release of a preliminary report (on September 20), the Commission will tour BC asking for public input.
There are two ways to provide input: in writing and in person at one of 11 Community Input Sessions.
If you can make it to an Input Session we encourage you do to so (see registration info below).
HOW TO PROVIDE INPUT IN PERSON (REGISTRATION REQUIRED): Register to speak at one of 11 sessions here: http://www.sitecinquiry.com/public-community-input-sessions/
HOW TO PROVIDE INPUT IN WRITING: Submit your input to: SiteCSubmission bcuc.com*
