Position: Peru Marketing Coordinator

Mosqoy’s Marketing Coordinator is an exciting office and field-based position that involves coordinating the marketing efforts of a Peruvian-Canadian grassroots charitable organization. The Marketing Coordinator is an integral part of Mosqoy, connecting the work of the organization to our supporters around the world. By helping us grow our network of supporters, your work will have a direct impact on supporting indigenous youth and woman weavers.

Mosqoy is a registered Canadian charitable organization that works in remote communities of the Peruvian Andes, offering opportunities for economic development while nurturing the threatened indigenous Quechua culture. We operate three main programs: the Q’ente Textile Program, which supports indigenous communities and women weavers by revitalizing textile traditions; the T’ikary Youth Program, which offers promising youth of the region opportunities for post-secondary education; and the Mink’a Knowledge Exchange Program, which aims to raise global awareness and responsibility in schools and universities in North America through courses and presentations, and through our Field School in Peru.   • Volunteer position
  • 3-6 month commitment
  • Weekly hours will vary depending on deliverables, but are typically around 20-30 hours per week
  • Flexible, unconventional schedule
  • Work-related expenses are covered
  • Low-cost housing may be available in Mosqoy’s student dormitory pending availability
  • A letter of reference and certificate will be provided upon successful completion of the fellowship
  • Location: Cusco, Peru, with the opportunity to visit remote communities in the Peruvian Andes
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

Required Skills

  • Highly competent (reading, writing, and speaking) in English
  • Interest in learning or improving Spanish
  • Professional writing experience
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest) and MailChimp
  • Photography, videography, and digital editing skills
  • Access to a high-quality digital camera (with both photo & video function)
  • Graphic design skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to new environments, resourcefulness, and sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills and ability to work in multi-cultural, collaborative environment
  • Confident self-starter, with a high degree of motivation and initiative
  • Accountability and trustworthiness
  • Ability to work effectively when unsupervised, but also work well with others as part of a small team
  • Creative and enthusiastic in order to seize new opportunities and identify potential areas for improvement and growth


  • Fluent written and spoken Spanish
  • Knowledge of and experience with product/studio photography
  • Studio photography equipment (lighting, reflectors, etc.)
  • Access to professional graphic design and photo/video editing software
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Experience living in a developing nation
  • Understanding of concepts and knowledge of language surrounding responsible international development, indigenous rights issues, and intersectionality

General Duties

  • Coordinate with Canada-based Marketing Coordinator and Peru field staff
  • Engage with online community through social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest) and through the MailChimp mailing list
  • Coordinate blog editing, posting, and online promotion
  • Create content (photos, stories from the communities, etc.) for social media posts, blogs and newsletters
  • Help design publicity materials, for Peruvian and Canadian audiences
  • Collaborate on crowdfunding campaigns
  • Support Q’ente Textile Program team to design and set up display and retail spaces in Cusco
  • Other marketing-related tasks as needed
