Oro-Medonte Forest School is a newly formed and quickly growing nature-based program for children. In this forest school program children spend anywhere from half a day to a full day outdoors in forests and natural spaces. Forest school education fosters children's development through child based learning, outdoor play, collaborative and independent inquiry all in an outdoor setting. Programs are currently offered to children aged 18 months to 10 years of age.
Established in September 2016, Oro-Medonte Forest School is currently operating as a private corporation, however in order to increase accessibility to the programs offered, the current directors are hoping to shift the corporation to a Not-for-profit model. A lawyer, who would be willing to work pro bono, is needed to help with this process.
This volunteer position could possibly lead to a position on the future board of directors of Oro-Medonte Forest School.
