InanItah is a place of transformation. It is a consciously created, earth-based spiritual community and transformational living and learning centre inspired by the path of freedom and aliveness. Our vision is to raise spiritual and environmental consciousness and create space for individual and collective transformation. I's a place you might like to come if you're looking for healing, personal transformation and expanding your world view.
We offer fresh spring water, 3 meals daily on weekdays and the kitchen, kitchen supplies and garden are are free for you to use on the weekends. There are a minimum of 5 yoga classes each week, sometimes more. Each weekday there is an opportunity to explore different styles of active meditation. You will also experience classes in natural building and biocontruction, organic gardening.
We are situated between fire and water volcanoes, tucked against the hillside of Volcán Maderas on biologically incredibly diverse 22 acres. Our peaceful natural surroundings are framed by panoramic views of both volcanoes and epic sunsets over the lake. Isla de Ometepe has a rich spiritual ancestry and once served as a sacred Indian burial ground, with evidence to this day of both Incan and Native American settlements. We began cultivating and building in 2009, and are in the midst of various natural building and Permaculture projects, which are heavily supported by our volunteers. We also offer workshops and gatherings throughout the year, alongside their various ongoing activities.
The Explorer Program is for people making a minimum of a month commitment and is open to first time volunteers. Your day-to-day responsibilities might include supporting ongoing building and gardening projects, service work with local community, administrative support, food preservation and preparation, as well as maintaining and beautifying communal spaces. In addition we will always do our best to create the opportunity for you to grow in your areas of interest. During your stay as a volunteer at InanItah, you will be encouraged to participate in daily meditations, yoga practices, workshops and activities as students, support staff and/or assistant instructors. Explorers are committed to 15 hours of work a week and the program has a cost of US$450 a month.
Special Skills - If you have as special skill and are willing and able to spearhead projects that fit with our current needs, individualized co-creator agreements are available (discounts or full work-trade agreements can be negotiated, depending on our current needs and your specific skills). We are looking for people with a good degree of experience in their area of focus and who exhibit a high level of responsibility and self-directedness. We are sometimes in need of photographers, skilled permaculturalists, natural builders, appropriate technology engineers, website developers, experienced yoga teachers, and skilled artists. Special skills trade can be for long or short periods of time, depending on the skill being offered and the co-creation in play.
