Are you passionate about nature? Are you concerned about salmon protection in BC? Do you want to share your passion with others and help to change things for the better? Then become a volunteer with Watershed Watch Salmon Society!
Watershed Watch Salmon Society is a non-profit organization working to protect and conserve BC’s wild salmon and the waters they swim in. We are on the lookout for dedicated people to join our outreach team. Outreach Ambassadors will join our staff at festivals, farmers markets, and community celebrations across the Lower Mainland, and also participate in special Watershed Watch events, including canoe tours, invasive species pulls, tree plantings, and garbage clean-ups.
Our mission as Outreach Ambassadors:
To educate, engage, and mobilize citizens on issues concerning BC’s wild salmon.
3-10 hours per month of volunteering (depending on availability)
Attend community events as a Watershed Watch representative
Oversee event booth, field questions from the public, encourage attendees to sign our petitions/join our newsletter
Set up/take down event booth
Demonstrate and encourage participation with educational and entertaining salmon activities
Attend events hosted by Watershed Watch
Setup/take down event booth and other supplies
Sign-in guests, accept money for paid events
Participating in Event Activities (eg. canoeing, plantings, etc.)
All Watershed Watch volunteers are guaranteed a reference letter after 30 hours of volunteer experience with our organization.
