Position: Flashlight Mysteries Event Support
Organization: Metro Vancouver
Location: Richmond and Delta, BC
Date: Saturday Oct 19, 2019


You can help connect people to nature at our fun outdoor, escape room style, night-time event. We're looking for enthusiastic, friendly and outgoing people to welcome participants, to be a game master support person, to organize and set-up materials and to create decorations that will bring the event to life! You'll have fun, meet people, get great experience – all in a beautiful regional park.


Welcome Station (Outside under tent)

  • Greet and welcome visitors as they enter site
  • Direct visitors around the site
  • Track and record attendance numbers and other demographic data (e.g. How did you hear about the event? & Where are you from?)
  • Count visitors using clickers
  • Promote current and upcoming Metro Vancouver activities and events by handing out brochures and Check It Outs!
  • Answer questions about the event

Game master support (help at activities)

  • Share hints with participants if needed
  • Direct participants to puzzle stations

Arts and Crafts Assistant:

  • Help organize, set up and cleanup craft space and work area
  • Prepare and source materials for crafts
  • Help participants make their creative projects

Set Up and Take Down:

  • Help organize and build event decorations and supplies
  • Help set up and take down event decorations and supplies at event
  • Help set up of tables, chairs, tents, booths, decorative displays, etc.


  • Outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic
  • Willingness to communicate with the public
  • Responsible, committed and motivated
  • Desire to learn and apply new skills
  • Willing to work outside for minimum of 4 hours
  • Knowledge of the park is a good background but not necessary


  • Have fun!
  • Gain knowledge of Metro Vancouver Parks and Special Events
  • Meet people, network with likeminded people
  • Hands-on experience interacting with the public and with nature interpretation
  • Learn about event planning and working in parks
  • Fulfill volunteer hours
  • Dinner and snacks provided
