WHY VOLUNTEER WITH CPAWS?
WHO ARE WE?
CPAWS is a non-profit, grassroots-based conservation organization dedicated to protecting Canada's wilderness. Founded in 1963, CPAWS has helped protect over 400,000 square kilometres of threatened areas across Canada.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We protect wilderness, our vision is to protect at least 50% of Canada's wilderness and oceans, keeping B.C.'s great parks, oceans and ecosystems wild for this century and beyond.
Our goal is to create large, meaningful protected areas with ecological strength – places thatcan nurse nature through climate change and shelter biodiversity forever.
Most of the wilderness left in B.C. and our coast is in public hands. We seek specific wilderness conservation from provincial, federal and First Nations governments.
YOU CAN HELP US!
We have stunning wilderness to save in British Columbia. You can help protect grizzly sanctuaries, endangered killer whale habitat, huge colonies of seabirds, Canada’s only desert, at risk grasslands, and untouched stretches of boreal forest.
B.C.’s wild places are beautiful. They’re also precious on a global scale, helping the planet breathe and biodiversity persist. We must make sure that B.C.’s most important places are saved. Some things should last forever.
