The Richmond Food Security Society (RFSS) is a community organization inspiring a robust Richmond food system through education, advocacy, and community building initiatives. We are a small team ranging from 3-6 staff plus volunteers and contractors. Our office is located in the Paulik Park in Richmond, BC. This position is an exciting chance to give back to the community and build your professional portfolio and network. In addition, you’ll work with a group of people who are passionate both about food security and the IT systems that support it. There is a lot of potential to research, coordinate and implement systems to support the RFSS team.
The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director (ED) and:
Ensure all hardware and software systems function smoothly
Work with the ED to identify and implement IT systems to improve workflow
Provide tech support to organization staff on hardware and software issues
Train organization staff and users on new and/or updated IT systems
We are looking for someone who:
Is equally happy crawling under the desks to get at hardware problems and implementing software solutions
Is highly tech savvy, and is able to find answers to all manner of questions
Has, or is working towards, a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or other relevant fields of study
Is available to troubleshoot problems quickly, and is highly detail oriented and dependable
The commitment we are looking for is:
One-two hours per week for regular system maintenance
Interest in tackling additional projects including implementing new systems
Availability to come to the office during regular business hours
