About the Position
The treasurer of the board of directors will be responsible for:
Helping staff with general accounting tasks.
Presenting monthly financial reports to the board of directors.
Prepare documents to be given to an external accounting firm for the creation of the annual financial statement.
Participating with board of directors and staff to advise in the direction of the society’s work and goals
Participating in annual special events such as board retreats, team activities and the Renfrew-Ravine Moon Festival.
Fulfilling a two-year term, which may be renewed (pending approval of board and members at annual general meeting).
You will be expected to attend 2 in-person weekday evening meetings and contribute 5-10 volunteer hours every month. Still Moon Arts wants you to be successful and you will be mentored by the current treasurer and the board of directors.
Professional financial knowledge and familiarity with Quickbooks or other accounting systems.
Ability to work flexibly in group and independent settings.
