Join the Blackwood Gallery, in partnership with the City of Mississauga and the University of Toronto Mississauga, as a volunteer for The Work of Wind: Air, Land, Sea, a 10-day contemporary art festival.
From September 14–23, the Southdown Industrial Area in Mississauga will be transformed into a site-specific contemporary art exhibition, with commissioned works by Canadian and international artists. Inviting new ways of experiencing Mississauga, The Work of Wind is designed to expand perspectives on climate change, environmental crisis, and resilience through artistic practices, cultural inquiry, and community engagement.
The Blackwood Gallery is currently seeking applications from volunteers with varying levels of experience to assist with the pre-production of artworks, provide information to visitors, animate the works and lead tours, assist with wayfinding and accessibility, ensure visitor safety, and a range of other tasks as required.

Training and Support
Volunteers will receive training through a group orientation, as well as support onsite from staff and Volunteer Crew Captains. Training sessions will take place in mid-August and early September.
