Position: Green Event Educator

Want to take part in and play a role in keeping some of Calgary’s coolest events GREEN?

Green Event Services has many volunteer opportunities at some of Calgary’s best events!

Green Event Services goal is to help community and cultural gatherings as waste free as possible. We are working to reduce the negative effects these events can have on our communities like litter and waste and turn these into positive action through waste education and reduction!

You’ll have fun while feeling good about giving back to the community. We offer full training for all our volunteer positions and there’s always the potential to turn a volunteer opportunity into a career path.

You will receive:

  • Hands-on Recycling and “What Goes Where” Training.

  • Access to our newsletter, including info about our outdoor clean-ups, workshops, tours and our Annual Volunteer Appreciation party. Our events are our way of saying thank you to our community!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Event Recycling Stations.
  • Educate the public on event recycling and “What Goes Where”. What we call “Trash Talking”
  • Assisting other volunteers with recycling station education and supervision.
  • Follow safety and event guidelines.
  • Champion Green Event Services values and mission Towards Zero Waste
  • Have Fun!
