VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Role: Environmental Blog Writer
Organization: Earth Restoration Service
Location: from home, worldwide

Earth Restoration Service (ERS) is a UK Registered charity, working to restore environmental degradation caused by human activities such as deforestation, pollution and land use techniques that cause soil erosion. ERS works in three major areas: creating new woodlands, river restoration, and the rehabilitation of wildflower meadows. ERS’ approach is one of proactive collaboration with schools, community groups, other charities, businesses and government agencies to create a global alliance to address the challenge of regenerating the earth. Since establishing our charity, ERS has served over 750 schools across the UK with our environmental programmes, planting over 60,000 new trees, and engaging 50,000 children & their local communities.

We are actively looking for individuals to join our team, to help us research and write content for the Earth Restoration Service blog, http://www.earthrestorationservice.org/blog/

As a blog writer, you will need to have a spirit of inquiry and research trending or interesting topics to produce absorbing blog material related to environmental restoration. We are looking for high-quality relevant content from around the world, be it environmental issues, wildlife and animal conservation, rewilding, scientific research, reforestation, new ecological developments and so on; but focusing on proactive ecological restoration in these fields. This position would ideally suit university students or anyone with a keen interest in the environmental field, who is looking to expand their experience of researching and writing about environmental hands-on restoration issues.

We are looking for applicants who are ideally able to produce at least one quality blog post per month and who are fully fluent in English. We want you to write about whatever you are most interested in or passionate about, so as long as it is related in some way to the environment, we would love to hear from you!

What you will receive by joining our team as a blog writer is recognition and a platform for your writing - your work will be accessed and viewed by visitors on our website, and promoted across our social media and other online channels. All your work will be accredited to you as a writer. You will also receive a listing on our website as a member of our team, and are welcome to link to your own personal website in your bio. This is a good opportunity to gain practical knowledge of researching and writing online articles and also to contribute to the environmental charity sector.

If you would like to apply, please send an email to aaron@earthrestorationservice.org outlining why you would like to fill this position, your CV/Resume, and an example of your previous writing, if applicable. We will review all applications and get back to you. Please note this is an unpaid position.
