Position: Education & Resource Coordinator - Volunteer

Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is looking for a volunteer Education & Resource Coordinator to support the educational goals of the LEAF program.
Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is Canada’s only nationwide, non-profit foodservice certification program. Established in 2009, LEAF helps restaurants reduce their environmental impact and makes it easy for patrons to identify green restaurants. We work with all types of foodservice facilities including restaurants, cafes, food trucks, campuses and tourist locations.
About the position
This position is ideal for students or new graduates looking to build their resume and contribute to reducing the environmental impact of the foodservice industry.
Location: work from anywhere in Canada
Understand the mission and operations of the organization
Liaise with industry representatives and LEAF members to determine topics requiring content creation
Research and create educational materials and resources for the foodservice industry
Seek out and share useful resources on the LEAF website
Collaborate with social media/marketing position to promote awareness of the materials
The ideal candidate will:
Have formal education in environmental science, specifically related to climate change, energy use, water conservation, food purchasing and waste reduction
Have extensive knowledge of the environmental impacts of the foodservice industry
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
