Role:
Data Collector/Safety Buddy
Type: science research position, volunteer

Do you like the outdoors, interested in a position in scientific research but lack the experience? Come volunteer with a graduate student from BC studying Ecological Restoration.

I am a graduate student looking for a volunteer to assist me with data collection outdoors for the duration of the summer. My project involves working with the local conservation authority (Credit Valley Conservation) to assess the quality of fish habitat at Terra Cotta Conservation Area. I am looking for a mature individual or high school student.

No prior experience needed. It will involve recording data and filling out field sheets for various scientific protocols (mostly Ontario Stream Assessment Protocol) as well as assisting with the collection of data from various sources. I will provide all equipment necessary. No knowledge about the protocols or equipment is required.
