Position: Eco Learning Hive Coordinator
Organization: World Fisheries Trust
Location: Victoria, British Columbia

We are searching for an organized and self-motivated volunteer to coordinate and grow the Eco Learning Hive - an online database of nature-education related organizations, teacher resources, events, and partnership opportunities. The successful applicant will gain valuable experience in data base management, digital media strategy and marketing, and membership growth and engagement. There is a potential to grow within the organization, and we always strive to connect volunteers with interesting opportunities and various community initiatives.

The Eco Learning Hive Coordinator will:

  • Manage and grow membership and awareness through email newsletters, networking events, workshops and conferences;
  • Direct social media strategy and create content for Facebook and Twitter;
  • Create and manage content for the homepage, events calendar, and resource sections of the website.
  • Create ‘playlists’ based on curricular themes, special interest topics, and teacher requests;
  • Contribute to the strategic development and long term sustainability planning for the site;
  • Adapt the site content as necessary
  • Other tasks as required.

The ideal candidate has experience with database management, including with Drupal platforms, as well as nature education strategy, and other website design and maintenance. However, the job may also be addressed with several volunteers of differing backgrounds.
