Volunteer Description:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper who is experienced with Netsuite bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles. The role includes recording GL and bank transactions, preparing invoices and receipts, and performing bank reconciliations in Netsuite. This is a long-term volunteer position for 5-10 hours per month. All duties can be performed online.


  • Connect with other passionate volunteers interested in making Toronto greener, healthier, and more sustainable.
  • Learn about all the interesting and inspiring green group activities happening across Toronto and the GTA
  • Flexible schedule, volunteer from home.
  • Working with and learning from an experienced CPA, CA.
  • Letter of recommendation and volunteer certificate.
  • Work with like-minded volunteers to help create a more sustainable future

Volunteer Tasks:

  • Record GL and bank transactions in Netsuite.
  • Process group membership invoices and payments.
  • Perform payroll for a few short-term summer employees.
  • Reconcile bank account statements monthly.


  • Bookkeeping experience using Netsuite
  • Detail-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Prompt and reliable
  • Enjoys working with other volunteers

Orientation and Training:

The Bookkeeper volunteer will follow an onboarding process and will be supported by the GNN Treasurer and Steering Committee members throughout the entire duration of their volunteer work.

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours a month
