ClimatAble est un nouvel OBNL visant l'engagement public face aux changements climatiques à travers les activités interactives et les formations.

Notre but est de fournir les fondations émotionnelles et cognitives pour les actions locales dans les diverses communautés. Notre organisme amorce notre travail avec l'événement MUNF3C: une simulation de négociations climatiques internationales.

Avec l'objectif d'agrandir notre offre d'activités et de lancer l'organisme nous recherchons des membres pour notre Comité Administratif. Le CA va fonder l'organisme et sera le point de prise de décisions pour Climatable. Actuellement le CA est composé de 5 membres et nous souhaitons augmenter sa composition (9 personnes maximum).

Profil géneral

Nous recherchons les membres du CA avec une diversité d'expérience et une maîtrise des deux langues officielles. Chaque membre devra être intéressé par les changements climatiques et avoir une connaissance des enjeux politiques et sociaux associés. Expérience en administration et connections avec diverses communautés seront fortement valorisés.

De plus, nous recherchons les compétences spécifiques dont :

  • Médias sociaux

  • Marketing

  • Design et graphisme

  • Expérience avec subventions et levées des fonds

  • Expérience et connaissance du contexte légal

  • Expérience corporative

  • Finance et comptabilité

  • Expérience avec le CCNUCC

Résponsabilités

Les membre bénévoles du CA devraient participer aux réunions bimensuelles et contribuer aux projets (5 heures par semaine en moyenne).

Call for Volunteer Board Members

ClimatAble is a non-profit launching this year focused on engaging the public with climate change through interactive activities and training. Our aim is to provide the cognitive and emotional basis for local action in diverse communities. This organisation grows out of the work done over the last two years running MUNF3C a simulation of international climate negotiations.

As we expand our activities and prepare to launch the organisation we are looking to grow our board. This volunteer board will be the founding body of the organisation and will be made up of the primary decision makers and actors for ClimatAble. Currently the board consists of five members and we are looking to expand to a maximum of nine.

General Profile

We are searching for a diverse group of people with mastery of both official languages. Every member of the board should have a basic knowledge of and strong interest in climate change as well as the policy and politics surrounding it. Administrative experience and experience with non-profits is highly valued as well as strong community connections.

Building on the above profile we are also searching for specific skills including :

  • Social media

  • Marketing

  • Website and graphic design

  • Knowledge of fundraising and grant writing

  • Legal knowledge and experience

  • Business and corporate experience

  • Financial and accounting ability

  • Experience in corporate education

  • UNFCCC negotiation experience

Responsibilities

This volunteer position is a commitment to attend biweekly meetings and contribute to the project on an ongoing basis (assume at least 5 hours/week). As the organisation is young this is a chance to leave your mark and help send ClimatAble in the right direction.
