Our new society is looking for volunteers (work for accommodations and meals) to help finish constructing the vertical log Indigenous Art Studio and expanding our permaculture food forest project, as our goal is to create a self-sustaining model of work and play that gives back to nature and maintains Indigenous culture.
We are located deep in the forest in northern British Columbia, known as the Lakes District because of the many lakes of all sizes that lay between the beautiful hills.
Work is 4 hours per day (with one day off a week). The stay is (preferred minimum) of 2 weeks to (maximum) of 4 weeks long From August 15th to September 15th.
Looking for those who enjoy nature in is raw beauty, don't mind phyical work, and like the fact that their time spent here is going towards making a big difference in a small community and Mother Nature. No experience is necessary but a good attitude and work ethic are greatly appreciated!
We offer organic (whenever possible) and fresh food/meals every day, internet access, a hot shower, a canoeing, fishing, a personal teepee to stay in (firepit in the center) or a tent, and the opportunity, if desired, to learn about Indigenous culture and practices. Town and its amenities is a 20-minute drive from our location.
If you are interested, we would love to hear from you.
