StopPlastics wants to eliminate the use of plastics for the benefit of the environment and all living beings (including humans). While our ultimate goal is to stop the use of plastics, our immediate goal is to get Torontonians to stop using single-use plastic bags!
StopPlastics is looking for volunteers.
Environmentally Minded Torontonians: StopPlastics Needs You!
Our immediate goal is to convince Toronto City Council to implement a ban on plastic bags. We need volunteers to canvass Toronto wards in order to provide information about the very serious repercussions caused by plastic and to ask them to participate in our plastic bag campaign. We have “Ban the Bag” postcards that we are asking residents to fill out which we’ll deliver to City Hall. We are aiming to get at least 30 postcards filled out for each of the 44 Toronto wards but the more cards we can send, the better. City Hall pays attention to numbers.
If you can help us get council to ban the use of single use plastic bags, please get in touch with us at:
If canvassing is not your thing, we have other volunteer opportunities. Please join us at our next meeting. Send us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Our group is composed entirely of volunteers. We are grassroots and there are no paid positions within our organization.
