Position: Environmental Educators
Type: as needed / by contract 
Organization: Ripple Coast
Location: Greater Vancouver, British Columbia

Duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver curriculum-based hands-on education programs in schools or in nature
  • Development or modifying of programs as needed
  • Communicate effectively with school contacts, parents, or teachers


  • Experience as a main or lead teacher/educator to students (K-12)
  • Access to a vehicle
  • First Aid/CPR certification and criminal record check or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds
  • Environmental studies or related post-secondary education an asset
  • Knowledge of the environment and conservation issues as it relates to coastal British Columbia an asset

Skills and abilities

  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and problem-solve
  • Organized and resourceful with a demonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enjoy working indoors or outdoors, rain or shine
  • Excellent group management skills and ability to handle a group independently

In addition, you will gain experience in nature education and a rich background on BC's important environment.


Environmental educators are hired as needed and by contract terms. Educators/Naturalists should be flexible with hours. Rates of pay are $50/program with most programs running for 1 hour - 75 mins.
