Position: Sustainability Consultant
Organization: Premier Environmental Services Inc.
Location: downtown Toronto, Ontario

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Premier Environmental Services is currently seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join our Strategic Sustainable Solutions Group in our downtown Toronto office located at Bay & King. The new team member will start by supporting the team, assisting on various projects as needed in order to familiarize themselves with the day-to-day tasks of a contributing and valuable team member. However, the intention is for this individual to eventually manage their own projects, and take on a client-facing role.

WHAT WE DO

Premier’s Strategic Sustainable Solutions team works with commercial landlords to enhance the workplace experience by engaging occupants in sustainable initiatives. Our team develops, manages, and executes comprehensive and customized Occupant Engagement Programs for clients. These programs are rooted in the foundations of behavioural science, and use various tools and resources to effect lasting behaviour change that starts in the workplace. This position is unique in that it requires strong research and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication skills, a creative mind, and the ability to present in front of small and large groups.

We are seeking an individual that is passionate about sustainability, health & wellness, behavior change, and social change. The ideal candidate will have a curious mind with the desire to continuously learn, grow, and make a positive social impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct research in sustainability, health & wellness, and behaviour change
  • Conceptualize, research, and develop materials for clients’ Occupant Engagement Programs, such as information toolkits, workshops, events (examples include mental wellness toolkit, green catering guide, self-care kit, recycling toolkit, energy savings toolkit)
  • Conceptualize, coordinate, and manage sustainable events and wellness workshops (pre-event, on-site, post-event)
  • Manage projects (from conceptualization to team management to execution, and everything in between)
  • Manage stakeholder relationships (clients, clients’ clients, external vendors)
  • Coordinate, manage, and facilitate internal and external meetings
  • Conceptualize, develop, manage, and execute internal marketing materials (business cards, social media posts, blogs, promotional materials) and materials for client deliverables (posters, banners, decals, social media posts)
  • Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders (small and large groups)
  • Other duties as assigned/required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or Diploma in Sustainability, Environment, Marketing, Psychology, or related field
  • General knowledge of the principles of sustainable design practices, healthy building practices, WELL Certification, and behaviour change
  • WELL AP designation is an asset
  • Strong research skills and ability to synthesize information in a way that’s easy for others to understand who have little knowledge of sustainability
  • Empathetic personality and articulate
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Creative Cloud, namely InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Digital marketing and graphic design skills
  • Knowledge of Vision is an asset
  • Involvement in the community and/or the commercial real estate, sustainability, or wellness industry an asset
  • Fluent in both French and English is an asset
