The Opportunity:

We are looking for an enterprising individual or group of individuals to become the leaders and owners of our wood flooring business that focuses on the upmarket Architectural and Interior Design community and green building segment.

Depending on your situation, this could mean outright purchase, Rent-to-own, or possibly some kind of partnership opportunity. The current owners are willing to train, mentor and guide the new owner as needed. We could continue to be involved for up to a few years if needed.

Who We Are:

We are a well-established Toronto wood flooring importer, wholesaler and retailer, doing business since 2006. The current retiring owner was actually took over the previously existing company on a Rent To Own basis from a previous company which he had been employed with since 1998. We supply engineered and solid wood floors to Designers, Architects, Builders, and their clients. We service Toronto, cottage country and all across Ontario. We have established brands that are known and loved in the market, and a loyal client base consisting of design and building trades who buy from us regularly. The business does an average of $1.5M in sales each year and generates $300,00 a year in net profit, owner’s salaries, benefits and bonuses.

Our flooring collections are both design oriented and environmentally minded. The environment and how our products affect it has been a focus from the beginning. We run conservation programs that educate Ontarians about and engage in work to preserve Ontario’s old growth forests. While many green building businesses closed since we began, we have remained flexible and nimble to move with early adapting market trends, which are not always green.

We support local wood mills as well as manufacturer globally. You will learn the knowledge of designing and importing your own lines of engineered hardwood flooring. This gives you massive price advantages and exclusive products that cannot be shopped on the market.

Available to you are loyal, regularly purchasing customers, new leads, an existing marketing program with well-known brands, an office with a designer showroom in one of Toronto’s busiest design districts and professional sampling tools. We are a team of four: owners, administrators and sales staff. The staff is here to help you learn, with the probability of staying once you take over.

There is massive potential to grow this business in Ontario’s booming building industry.

About You:

This opportunity is perfect for a person or group of people interested in owning a business with the added advantage of an established and profitable enterprise. Experience in wood flooring and/or business-to-business sales are large assets, but not necessary. You should be professional, self managed and driven. You should be willing to get involved in all aspects of the business from selling to logistics to marketing. Our network of factories, suppliers and sub-contractors will help you implement it all.

Most importantly, you will be someone who makes things happen, no matter what.

What we offer:

  • Training: one year with the existing owners in all aspects of the business
  • Sales Staff: existing staff of four
  • Clientele: existing and loyal (design and building trades) who purchase regularly
  • CRM Database: over 10,000 building and design firms across the GTA, Ontario and Canada
  • Brands: two higher end brands for the mass market and one green brand
  • Websites: 3
  • Sample Kits: two different branded sets in mass volume for trades and consumers.
  • Branded Literature: Brochures, Specification Sheets, Selling Sheets, Email marketing templates
  • Mass emailing system
  • Tradeshow booth: complete with walls, show boards and the tools for construction.
  • Destination showroom: busy, design district of Toronto at reasonable rent.
  • Office: complete with desks, chairs, computers, printers etc
  • Software: Customer Relation Management (CRM), Administrative, Billing and Inventory
  • Storage racking: extensive system for trade and consumer samples
  • Inventory: approx. 100,000sqft of high demand wide-plank engineered wood flooring
  • Manufacturing: two to three current factories making private labelled lines, as well as local manufacturers and mills.
  • Manufacturing knowledge base: designing, importing and selling private labelled lines of engineered hardwood flooring
  • Logistics accounts: global and local for shipping and warehousing of products
  • Environmental Certification: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certification for supplying responsibly managed wood products.
  • Existing Sales: $1.5M/yr (avg)
  • Owners Compensation and Net Profit: $300,00/yr (avg)

We are open to negotiation as how this transfer of ownership can happen. This could include a portion of sweat equity as well as buy out or “rent to own”. We are mostly interested in giving a chance to people who want to take control of their financial futures with creative and passionate work, grow our business and service its loyal clients who love what we do and continue the legacy of good work we have done in the hardwood flooring industry with sustainable wood.
