Farming Assistant: focusing on medicinal herbs, farmstay and conservation

How would you like to work for an organic farm along the beautiful Brantford to Dundas rail trail, where you can learn about growing and preserving herbs, medicinal plant walks, and ecotourism?

We operate a small organic farm along the rail trail and focus on medicinal herbs, wildcraft and value added products. Come learn from Richard, retired naturopathic doctor, who now focuses on making salves, lip balms and dried herbs, and leading medicinal plant walks. Learn from Richard and Ella about how to do conservation related projects on a farm (contour planting design, planting shelter belts, restoring wetlands, planting a tall grass prairie, conservation easement), and how to operate farmstay (camping and small guest units) on a farm. We are founding members of the Langford Conservancy. Learn about our work to create a rural community hub with a special focus on outreach to seniors and migrant farm workers.

You would be helping with growing, harvesting and preserving medicinal herbs, and preparation of the grounds and garden for medicinal plant walks and farm-stay. You would also be involved with rescuing certified organic food and redistributing it to the community.
