Position: Camp Ranger

Fronterra ( is a unique, high-end agro-tourism experience set on a 56 acre working farm. The farm cultivates organic malting barley and hops for beer production as well as a 15,000 sq. ft botanical heirloom garden. Fronterra operates a boutique luxury camp in the waterfront forest which provides guests a chance to reconnect to the natural beauty and simplicity of our farm, fields, lake and forests.

Through this unique experience, Fronterra promotes a reconnection to simplicity, self-sufficiency and sustainability by connecting guests to food while transferring related skills that have a positive impact on the environment. Our vision is to foster a shift toward healthy, sustainable lifestyles and promote the understanding of our connection to the diversity of the natural world that sustains us.

At Fronterra, the Camp Ranger is responsible for ensuring a premium quality experience for Camp guests during their stay. It is therefore imperative that a professional, enthusiastic and courteous demeanour is maintained at all times. The main responsibilities of the Camp Ranger are threefold:

  1. To tend to arriving, overnighting and departing guests to ensure they have all they need for a wonderful experience. This includes tasks such as greeting the guests, helping them with their luggages, providing them with an overview of their accommodations, and a tour of the activities they can do while in the region. The Camp Ranger is also responsible for managing requests such as equipment rentals, wood or ice deliveries at the tents. These cores responsibilities consists in approximately 40% of the work time.
  2. Clean the guest suite and ensure the general upkeep of the campground. This includes tasks such as making the beds, cleaning the tent interiors and the outdoor kitchen, attending the composting toilet, and replenishing guestroom and bath supplies. These cores responsibilities consists in approximately 50% of the work time.
  3. Assist with other projects at the farm, with responsibilities such as weeding the garden, working in the hopyard, harvesting vegetables from the garden, feeding and cleaning the livestock (poultry and sheep). These cores responsibilities consists in approximately 10% of the work time.

Fronterra is looking for a passionate, creative and hard working candidate that shares the same interest for sustainability, local farming practices, social responsibility and community health. Having an educational background in agri-tourism, sustainable agriculture or other related fields is an asset. The candidate must also be an outdoor enthusiast who does not fear to get their hands dirty in different weather conditions.

Salary: Starting at $15/hour.
