About the Employer
The Edible Garden Project (EGP) is a program of the North Shore Neighbourhood House (NSNH) that is committed to improving access to local food for the community of North Vancouver. The EGP develops partnerships and empowers community members to supply high quality, nutritious, fresh produce to those most in need in the community. The EGP runs skill-share sessions for volunteers and hosts workshops on a variety of topics regarding food security.
The Farm Assistant will work closely with the Farm Coordinator to support the on-going farm operations. They will help to ensure accurate records of farm activities are kept and will participate in twice-weekly harvests during market season. The Farm Assistant will support the Market Coordinator to manage twice-weekly farm markets. They will also help to supervise farm interns and volunteers, with support and guidance from the Program Coordinator and the Farm Manager. The Farm Assistant will also distribute coupons to community members as part of the Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program (FMNCP).
