ABOUT USC CANADA
USC Canada is a charitable organization founded in 1945, and rooted in the notions of human dignity and equality. Our mission is to build food sovereignty by working with partners to enhance biodiversity, promote ecological agriculture, and counter inequity.
Our Canadian field program, The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security, works with farmers across Canada to build resilient seed systems. We lead on-farm research and training programs on seed biodiversity conservation and plant breeding to increase the quality, quantity, and diversity of regionally-adapted seed that performs well in ecological farming conditions.
