Purpose and General Description
Taking care of our environment has never been more important than it is today. The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is looking for a highly organized Manager, Projects and Campaigns to join a team committed to protecting our most important natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.
The primary responsibility of this role will be planning and managing the execution of campaigns and projects as determined by the Marketing & Development team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed successfully on time and within scope.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting into the Director, National Marketing, this role will determine the parameters that need to be met to take on marketing, fundraising, lead generation and engagement projects at a national level. They will be responsible for determining the team’s capacity to take on projects and campaigns from a skill and capacity perspective to ensure that the team can perform the tasks required of them and that they will provide the organization the return on investment required.
In collaboration with team members, they will determine the scope and timing for projects and assist with determining when vendor support is required. They will develop the process for executing projects including leveraging project management software as needed. Each member of the team is accountable to this person to ensure that they are providing predictable scoping and time needed so that project plans can be precise and repeatable.
They will be responsible for assembling and tasking the team and will work closely with other management to ensure that the right tasks are built into the right project.
This individual will also be responsible for chairing and executing monthly project charter meetings. They will begin by developing and implementing a formalized project charter process and framework which outlines the statement of scope, objectives and people who are participating in a project.
They are responsible for ensuring that the team is tasked efficiently within capacity and that work quality does not slip due to inefficiencies or over assignment of work.
They are also responsible for campaign post-mortems and analysis to identify what processes and assignments are working in the context of campaign execution and what needs to be improved upon.
