Position: Program Manager, Race to Reduce

Job Summary

Manitoba Race to Reduce is a friendly corporate challenge amongst office buildings throughout the province that encourages commercial building landlords and tenants to publicly commit to working together to reduce the total collective energy use in their participating buildings by at least 10% over four years. 

As the Program Manager for this program, you’ll be responsible for providing participants with resources to support their efforts in the Race, managing a program calendar, developing campaigns and associated assets, and ensuring resources are up to date on the website and promoted through social media. You will be responsible for monitoring Race results using Natural Resources Canada’s benchmarking tool – Portfolio Manager, as well as ensuring data is accurate and up to date. Annually you will coordinate an awards ceremony, which is funded through sponsorship dollars you will raise, and will celebrate the results achieved by the participating buildings. The Program Manager will primarily work from a home-based office with all the necessary equipment provided by Summerhill. Program Manager will rely on a laptop and phone to connect with their supervisor, client, participants and program stakeholders.

Schedule: Full time, 1 year contract (with an option for extension)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create communication and marketing materials to engage tenants and staff

  • Maintain and create updates for the program website

  • Coordinate and manage social media and promotions

  • Generate ideas, tenant engagement/behavior change initiatives, for participating buildings to participate in

  • Organize and execute customer lobby events/information sessions to assist in outreach

  • Manage participant profiles in Portfolio Manager (NRCan benchmarking tool that stores building utility data)

  • Analyze Portfolio Manager data and conduct building assessments

  • Organize and execute an annual awards ceremony (annually in April)

  • Facilitate annual awards ceremony sponsorship fundraising

  • Recruit new participants and assisting in enrolling properties

  • Manage the program budget

  • Facilitate bi-annual meetings with the Leadership Advisory Council

  • Facilitate bi-weekly client meetings and monthly reporting

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • College/University Degree

  • 3+ years planning, creating and implementing programs on time and on budget

  • Marketing and fundraising background an asset

  • Experience with National Resources Canada’s Portfolio Manager bench marketing tool an asset

  • PMP an asset

  • Self-Starter

  • Ability to meet goals and objectives with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills

  • Ability and enjoyment of presenting to groups

  • Ability to analyze data, problem solving skills

  • Ability to learn new software tools (Portfolio Manager)
