Position: Teacher for Forest Learners Program
Organization: Soaring Eagle Nature School
Location: Vancouver and North Vancouver, BC
Soaring Eagle Nature School (SENS) is a North Vancouver and Vancouver based school that offers unique nature-based programs to youth, teens and adults. Our mission at Soaring Eagle Nature School is to empower people to discover and share their gifts through meaningful connections with the natural world. We honour the natural cycles within people and use their own excitement and curiosity to guide their learning and their connections to themselves, the earth and other people.
Soaring Eagle Nature School is seeking a Teacher to teach our 3-day a week forest learners program.
Our new program will be bringing the core curriculum to a forest setting. This exciting program comes out of a desire to create a 3-day-a-week Soaring Eagle Nature School program which allows for more hands-on, lived experience in the forest, passion-based learning, and secure, genuine caring attachment between learner and mentor. This program has also come from the desires of parents who are looking for an alternative learning experience for their children, where learners are in the forest, learning and studying things they would in an indoor classroom setting.
This new program is a nature-based immersion program for ages 6-9, with the possibility of the group of learners staying together as a group as they grow older each year. This will be a small class size of 10-12 kids.
