Role: Co-Director
School: Joie de Vivre Forest and Nature School
Location: Guelph, Ontario
About: About forest & nature schools (below)

The JOB:

I'm looking for a co-director who would like to open a forest and nature school program along with me. I'm finishing my ECE diploma and forest and nature school certification. I am seeking another half to make it whole. The skills I have are: visionary, curriculum designing, forest and nature school practitioners credential, ECE diploma, risky play experience, entrepreneurial know how, marketing, great people skills, great with young kids, creative and a self-starter etc.. I am humble enough to know my limits though and am looking to team up with someone who has skills in more administration: organization, policy creation, finance background who would want to work as a co-director or as an administration support. Ideally, we would be then running a forest and nature school together with our skills balancing out one anothers. If you feel you are interested in this opportunity and would like to start casually, moving into part-time, and then full-time when the program becomes successful..and you are willing to take a risk to open it, please get in touch!

Current Achievable Goals to Work on

The website is in progress and you can access it here: .

Current Goals:

  • work on the philosophy statement – including combing in the forest school ethos with the How Does Learning Happen framework.
  • working on the parent handbook (to complete)
  • funding – applying for available grants together
  • location – working together to find a location (I have already created a proposal statement)
  • sorting out the details, registration policies

There are more goals but these are the current goals I'm working on. You can see the details on the website.

Final Thoughts

I think forest and nature schools are the future. I'm looking to organize a great program that is innovative and focuses on the children, families, and community served. :)
