Program Manager

We are looking for a bilingual people manager and creative program designer who is great at collaboration and can leverage the deep subject matter expertise of a team of consultants, project managers, and thought leaders.

In this permanent full-time role, you will join Park People’s management team and play a key role in shaping the programs we deliver and how we work as Park People grows and evolves. You will manage a smart, committed, and high-capacity team to deliver meaningful work in collaboration with colleagues, park professionals, and non-profits across Canada.

As Program Manager, your role will include:

• Leading a team of staff focused on developing and delivering our programs on the ground in Montreal and virtually across the province of Quebec;
• Building program partnership opportunities and strengthening intersections between urban parks and social connection, biodiversity, and community-building;
• Ensuring programs are relevant and responsive to community-identified needs;
• Ensuring projects and programs are impactful and supporting our work to foster community leadership, improve wellbeing, and build resilience in Canadian cities;
• Developing and providing oversight of program budgets;
• Building a healthy team culture of collaboration, accountability, support, and ongoing learning;
• Working collaboratively with the management team to set priorities, build integrated processes, and develop sustainable, strongly resourced programs with diverse funding sources

The skills and experience you bring to the role include:

• Bilingual (English and French) – In this role, you will oversee a team of bilingual staff members and will work consistently in both languages;
• Experience designing and managing inclusive community programs through an anti-oppression lens and using equity-based principles and practices;
• Passionate about developing others – skilled at communicating clear goals and creating space for a team to accomplish them with autonomy and creativity;
• An appetite for collaborative visioning and planning;
• Personal or professional experience working with equity-deserving groups, with a strong familiarity of regional or national organizations that support diverse Canadian communities;
• Strong communicator with demonstrated fundraising experience, including proposal and report writing and relationship management;
• High level of comfort and experience working in a context of growth and change;

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Willing to consider 0.8 FTE for the right candidate.
Location: We are open to candidates from across Canada
Salary Range: $60,000-70,000
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
