Position: Office & Giftshop Manager
Employer: Pacific Northwest Raptors Ltd.
Location: Duncan, Vancouver Island BC

The Raptors is a bird of prey and falconry organization dedicated to raising awareness for birds of prey, promoting conservation and reducing human-wildlife conflict.

We’re currently seeking an Office & Giftshop Manager to join our team. Based out of our visitor centre in Duncan, BC, this position would be responsible for administrative support for all of our operations across Canada, management of our office space; including development of new organizational systems, day to day inquiries and customer service, and management of our giftshop; including stock management and training. Flexibility is key for the suitable candidate.

The suitable candidate would have:

  • A positive attitude and demeanour
  • Experience with common administrative programs (Office Suite, etc)
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills, including spelling and grammar
  • Great organizational skills
  • Ability to learn, and adapt to, new technologies
  • Adaptability to a variety of work and tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a team, as well as be self-directed at times
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Passion for conservation and the environment

Exceptional candidates may also possess the following:

  • Post-secondary education in a biology, communications, administration or other relevant fields.
  • Experience implementing green initiatives or programs
  • Retail or management experience
  • First aid skills
  • Experience working with animals, especially wildlife
  • Public speaking and/or education experience

This is a full-time (35-40hrs/week) permanent position, with benefits available for full-time positions after 3-months. Wages start at $18 - 22 per hour, dependent on experience.
