Type: board of directors position / unpaid

Location: Greater Victoria, BC

Community Micro Lending is seeking candidates passionate about access to entrepreneurship to join the board of directors.

Those interested in contributing in time-limited ways to the work of the organization are also encouraged to apply for volunteer roles in our working groups.

About Community MIcro Lending

Community Micro Lending is a non-profit society serving Victoria, BC. Since 2009, we have worked to connect local entrepreneurs with the resources, training and support they need to start or expand community-scale enterprise.

We do this through two main streams: facilitating peer-to-peer microloans between community members and providing inclusive financial literacy and business development training programs.

Our clients face intersectional barriers to accessing traditional avenues of support and staff and volunteers work hard to meet them where they’re at and to connect them with the value of their skill, effort and creativity. We approach our efforts with the intention of growing client confidence and connecting them with the skills, knowledge and resources they need to bring ideas to life. Through this work, we aim to build thriving, resilient communities one entrepreneur at a time.

  • Experience with or knowledge of current approaches to impact investing and microfinance domestically and abroad
  • Experience with or knowledge of approaches to social enterprise incubation
