Position: Financial Coordinator

Overview:

The Financial Coordinator is involved in the daily functions of the finance department, ensuring transactions are entered accurately into the system and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter invoices and staff expense forms in SAGE on a weekly basis, ensure accuracy of tax expense and recoverable amounts based on rates in effect for each invoice
  • Administer weekly cheque run and match cheques to invoices
  • Maintain accounts payable vendors and accounts receivable customers in SAGE
  • Record corporate credit card transactions in SAGE on a monthly basis
  • Code administrative invoices and monthly billings
  • Respond to vendor inquiries with an appropriate balance of relationship management and insight into Evergreen’s payment policies
  • Prepare invoices based on department requests (includes donations and earned revenue)
  • Record payment receipts into SAGE on a weekly basis (cash, cheques, credit cards)
  • Complete weekly bank deposits, ensure deposit amounts reconcile to SAGE batches
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial assistance from internal and external sources
  • Collect mail and photocopy and scan cheques
  • Order and maintain office supplies in mail room

  • Team Player. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Supervised by: Director of Finance

Qualifications:

  • One to three years’ accounting and financial coordination experience, preferably within a non-profit organization
  • Knowledge of SAGE ERP an asset
  • Excellent administrative and time management skills
  • Offer of employment may be conditional on an acceptable criminal background check

Working conditions:

  • Regular hours, Monday to Friday
  • General office environment
