Wage: $18 – 20 per hour depending on experience
We are looking for a creative individual to deliver fun, interactive and hands-on environmental education programming about birds and the boreal forest for audiences of all ages. Based at the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation (BCBC), you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of exciting and informative education programs for a wide ranging audience including school groups, families, tourists and seniors. The position will also help to deliver fieldtrip and classroom programs for our education partner; the Lesser Slave Forest Education Society. Other duties include: conducting tours of the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory; providing visitor information services at the BCBC, helping with special events, and assisting with Alberta Parks summer interpretive programs.
The Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation is an exciting education and research facility located in Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park. This centre is operated as a partnership between Alberta Parks and the LSLBO. It is located approx. 15 minute drive north of Slave Lake, AB. On-site rental accommodation is available for seasonal staff. at a cost of approx $295/month. Note: this position will be an employee of the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory Society.
