A message from Canada’s national museum of natural history based in Ottawa:
In 2014, the Canadian Museum of Nature launched the Nature Inspiration Awards to recognize people who make a positive contribution to the natural world. Do you know of a potential candidate to nominate or would you consider applying yourself for one of the 2017 Nature Inspiration Awards?
These national awards are designed to highlight individuals and organizations that, through their work or specific projects, encourage Canadians to take an interest in natural history, create links with nature and show leadership in contributing to the preservation of nature.
The deadline for nominations is April 28, 2017. Application forms and profiles of the previous finalists and winners can be found at https://www.nature.ca/awards . Have a look at this brief video clip which highlights last year's winners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LDqj94m5xY&feature=youtu.be
There are six categories for the awards and a special Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will be chosen by the jury.
It’s easy to fill out an application. The main requirement is simply to complete a short essay that highlights the candidate / organization’s achievements, initiative or project. All the finalists will be invited to attend the awards gala in November and winners will receive $5,000 to donate to a program of their choice and will be profiled in the Nature Inspiration Awards promotional material.
We really hope you consider applying or entering a nomination and look forward to hearing from you.
