Position: Bodycare Production Associate
Organization: Anarres Natural Health Apothecary
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Details: on-site at 1076 Bloor St W Toronto M6H1M6 Tues-Fri. Beginning 25 hours a week with a possibility of 37.5 hours/week
(Paid trial days in September, starts October)


  • Experience making products including vegan lotions, vegan creams, vegan and non-vegan balms.
  • Willingness and ability to follow instructions, create, cost out and recreate recipes, and communicate these to student helpers.
  • Understanding of safe and sanitary handling of ingredients and packaging, and of natural methods of body care preservation.

Anarres Production Associate Job Responsibilities:

  • REPRESENTS the values and ethics of sustainability, zero waste, sex, and LGBTQA+++ including trans positivity, anti-racism, decolonization, and compassionate activism.
  • MANAGES COVID-19 precautions: wears a mask over mouth and nose while on duty and keeps 2-meter physical distance, ensures customers do the same, explains safety measures, and manages disruptive customers assertively but not aggressively. Asks for assistance from team members as needed and debriefs incidents with owner/teacher.
  • OPENS AND CLOSES KITCHEN, engaging students/work exchangers/Apprentices in daily tasks.
  • SERVES CUSTOMERS by dispensing essential oils, oils, and other ingredients accurately and efficiently.
  • PRODUCES, PACKAGES, LABELS body care, and herbal products in sanitary, standardized, and appealing ways.
  • COORDINATES AND SUPERVISES APPRENTICES, WWOOFERS AND WORK EXCHANGERS, guiding and instructing helpers in tasks in the kitchen including cleaning, dispensing and production.
  • DOCUMENTS PRODUCTION by creating or updating online recipes and written records.
  • COMMUNICATES CLEARLY regularly with staff, students and owner.
