Position: Outbound Marketing Manager
Organization: Localize

We are looking for an amazing, data-driven marketer to help build our global sales opportunities. You are excellent at planning, prioritizing, and turning plans into actions. You are extremely self-motivated, a team-player, and never afraid to ask questions.

Job Description

You will be in charge of strategic planning, resource allocation, and content planning to generate new leads for the business, nurture those leads to close into customers, and provide communication tools to delight our clients.

Responsibilities include:

1. Relationship building

  • Identify and build on positive and lasting relationships in our industry.
  • Build opportunities to better understand, engage, and exchange ideas with our partners and future clients.
  • Put trust and integrity first in all of your activities

2. Strategic Planning:

  • Allocate resources and identify opportunities for expansion of our client base, database, and global sales.
  • Develop strategies to achieve Localize’s growth targets including total annualized revenue growth, increased client base, and growth in our database.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly marketing plans aligned with sales goals.
  • Develop reporting and tracking methods for measuring return on investment of sales and marketing campaign spending and track goals against organization wide objectives and targets

3. Market Intelligence:

  • Coordinating and conducting targeted market research to identify key markets, entry points, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate research on key target audiences and integrate data gathered into marketing and sales strategies.
  • Coordinate and contribute to research projects including the development of white papers, impact analyses, research on consumer preferences.

4. Channel Development for New Products:

  • Support commercialization of new product offerings by developing channels and tools for communicating product offerings to new and existing customers and partners.
  • Undertake business platform analysis to validate business model and product offering.
  • Develop marketing and sales material to communicate new products and introduce products to new markets.
  • Develop channels for delivering content to key target audiences.
  • Create increased awareness with current clients about our evolving client offerings.
  • Work with Sales team to build communication tools to generate increased value per client through value added offerings.

5. Marketing and Sales Process Development:

  • Support market expansion and development through outbound sales processes and tools.
  • Identify key opportunities for outbound sales efforts include target markets, clients, and contacts.
  • Develop sales material for outbound efforts. You will be supported through in-house graphic design and communications support from your team.
  • Generate and implement a strategy for Localize’s presence at national and international trade shows, conferences events.
  • Build market intelligence, tools, and processes for use in outbound and inbound sales lead generation to support market expansion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build our audience through thought leadership.
  • Automate lead generation and nurturing through targeted communications using smart marketing campaigns (targeted content based on user personas, geography, level of awareness, and type of partner).
  • Optimize website and electronic communications for scalability. Generate metrics for landing pages, blog posts, social media posts, and campaigns to measure return on investment from inbound marketing efforts.
  • Building marketing process and campaigns which dramatically increases the funnel of opportunities for both sales and data teams.

6. New Service Product Launches:

  • Support the Brand Manager in development and launch of company brand architecture and new product lines.
  • Continuous validation of our business model, value propositions, buyer personas, marketing funnel, and sales process.
  • Generating organic PR related to clients and product launches.


  1. Bachelor degree in a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered)

  2. Proven strengths, skills, and/or experience in business commercialization.

  3. Proven track record of outbound marketing for lead generation.
  4. Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions.
  5. Past experience producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge (blog, SlideShare, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  6. Past experience building audiences either online or offline.
  7. Past experience supporting a sales team through targeted content development.
  8. A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.
  9. Proficiency in content management systems and search engine optimization. You will be expected to build product pages, optimize the conversion paths on those pages, and use dynamic calls-to-action to create and test buyer stage-specific calls-to-action.
  10. Expertise using customer relationship management tools and marketing automation.

Bonus skills: HTML/CSS, Adobe Creative Suite/Graphic Design/Public Relations/Brand strategy.

Compensation: Base salary of $70,000/year and 15 days vacation.

Our team is made up of people passionate about food, food information, agriculture data, and helping consumers make informed decisions about the food they purchase and consumer. Localize labels can be found across Canada showing customers where their food has come from. Now, Localize is growing beyond local food into other labeling programs that meet customer demand for food transparency.
