SUSTAINABLE FARMING JOBS

Position: Field and Greenhouse Crew Member
Farm: La Petite Ferme Verte
Location: Saint-Sixte, Quebec (40 minutes NE of Gatineau)

We are a one acre market garden located in Saint-Sixte, Quebec. We are not certified organic nor do we ever intend to become certified. But our practices adhere to the "realorganic" standards established by Eliot Coleman. This year we will be making composting bioreactors, actively aerated compost tea brewers and familiarizing ourselves with ramial woodchip harvesting + application. These exploratory goals will be accomplished in between the normal weeding, sowing and vegetable prep work.

Our farm is focused on living soil practices with the longterm goal of zero exogenous fertility input.

Our second goal is to create practices which minimize the costs that our farm externalizes to the environment.

If you would like to learn about this way of farming, or are already familiar with it and wish to come teach us what you know then please submit a resume.
