Position: Landscape Labourer
Organization: Landscaping with Heart
Location: Vancouver & Lower Mainland, BC

Landscaping with Heart is a Vancouver-based social enterprise run by Coast Mental Health. Established in 2002, we provide landscape maintenance, power washing and litter control services. As part of our social mission, we provide work opportunities for those facing mental health barriers.

Responsibilities:

• Working directly with individuals with a mental health challenges to deliver exceptional customer service
• Perform basic horticultural tasks like mowing, line trimming, leaf clean up, weeding as well as litter control and pressure washing
• Able to work with and support team members in the safe use of equipment
• Be a Positive Team Player and have a passion to work with individual that face challenges
• Comply with all company policies and regulations and local health and safety regulations
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
• Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites
• You ensure Coast Mental Health guidelines are met and the environment stays safe

Qualities we are seeking:

• Passion about working with people that face barriers to employment
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
• Highly alert to safety in the work place, and demonstrates problem solving skills
• Driven to improve efficiencies, with ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written in English)
• Horticultural knowledge is an asset

Requirements for applicants:

• Comfortable working with and embrace a diverse range of people
• Experience in trades, landscape and/or labour positions
• Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record

Full -Time, Seasonal with possibility of extension
Hourly Wage: $20.50-$25 depending on experience
Sick days and vacations days inlcuded
