Hiring: Landscape Designer

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will perform professional calibre work in planning and preparing designs and drawings for landscape projects. This individual will be responsible for meeting with clients and discussing their landscape requirements, collecting information for softscape/hardscape designs and for executing such designs.

Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion. The Landscape Designer will also create estimates for the designs and other softscaping/hardscaping projects, using our existing software & estimating data.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Successful Applicant

The Landscape Designer

• Prepares schematic, preliminary, and final drawings for landscaping projects
• Performs general drafting work such as site plans, maps, and working sketches
• Meets with clients to discuss their landscaping requirements
• Creates detailed estimates based on design requests & requirements using our estimating software

Education & Experience

• Certificate/diploma from an accredited college or university with major course works in landscape architecture/designing; or 1-3 years of experience in landscaping design and estimating; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Experience with Dynascape, SketchUp, and possibly other landscape design programs
• Experience with estimating landscape projects with estimating software (LMN)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of landscaping
• Knowledge of horticulture and plant identification
• Knowledge of the principles and methods of surveying and taking measurements
• Considerable skill in the preparation of estimates
• Skill in the use of drafting software
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Good communication
• G License in good standing

Wages: $22-$30 per hour depending on experience, plus bonus structure
