Position: Children and Youth Program Leader (part-time)
Organization: First Unitarian Church of Victoria
Location: Victoria, BC
Are you passionate about environment & social justice, mindfulness and/or nature-based learning?
Do you have experience working with children?
We are looking for two people to lead our groups of spirited children (k- gr 6) and youth (gr 7+) through a values-based curriculum. You will have volunteer support in the class, you will do the planning and lead the work. Program will run on Sunday mornings from September to June, you will generally work three Sundays per month during this time. There is some flexibility in number of hours, usually 3-5 per week but can be more for additional projects (optional).
Our children's programs encourage exploration of values, respect for diversity and connection to the interdependent web of life. Children and youth develop a sense of wonder and awe through stories, music, art and nature-based learning. Inclusion, communication and healthy relationships are the core of all our programming. We encourage our children’s curiosity and nurture their open and loving nature.
First Unitarian Church of Victoria is a welcoming community, energized by the diversity of beliefs, identities, and experiences that each person brings. Experience with/knowledge about Unitarian Universalism is a plus, but not required for any of these paid positions. Find out more about our church here: http://victoriaunitarian.ca/
