GreenSaver is looking for additions to its Canvasser/Field Services Team (BRI Sales). If you enjoy meeting people, being active in the community and are interested in the energy conservation industry we would like to meet you.

Job Description:

Employment Status: Full time, Part time, Base Salary Plus Commission or Commission-Only Option

Reporting to: Sales Manager, Business Refrigeration Incentive Program (BRI)

Overview:

Are you interested in driving sales, sustainability and helping small businesses? Do you want to work full time or part time, with flexible hours and earn a bonus on top of a base hourly rate (or, straight commission option also available at a higher percentage rate)?

We are GreenSaver, an energy conservation organization that helps small businesses enroll in utility programs that will reduce their energy bills and help their bottom lines. Specifically, we work with these businesses on solutions that will make their business more energy efficient, at no cost to them.

We work directly with local utilities to promote and deliver their conservation programs, so we represent the utility when we engage potential program participants. We are hiring field representatives to engage these businesses, in person, to raise awareness for these free programs and get these businesses to sign up. We will then perform an assessment and retrofit the facility by installing energy efficient equipment.

The best part is: these programs are completely free for business owners. We work for the utility, so there is no cost for the business owner. It is a win-win and we receive great feedback from the many businesses we’ve helped.

Who you are:

  • We are looking for individuals who are outgoing, approachable, passionate about energy conservation, and most importantly, have a drive to sell free solutions to small business owners.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial mechanical systems preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with a CRM is an asset.

Time Commitment:

Full time preferred, but we are willing to work with part-time constraints if you are the right fit.

You may need access to a personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license (full G required), as the small businesses will be located across your assigned territory. We will provide one full day of class room training, plus field training (you will be paid for this day), then minimal supervision. If you have a car that you can use to visit customer sites, please let us know. We reimburse for mileage.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 Years of experience in a sales or customer service role
  • B2B experience is preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma (a post-secondary education will be considered an asset)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to engage businesses in funded energy conservation opportunities with minimal supervision
  • Professional demeanor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, highly organized, attention to detail with a positive attitude and interest in the energy and environment sectors
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Web Based Applications with an aptitude to learn internal software and relevant applications
  • Multilingual ability is considered an asset

Further Requirements and Qualifications

  • Completion of a criminal background check
  • Access to a personal vehicle is an asset
  • Valid Ontario driver's license, full G required
