Position: Customer Service / Admin
Organization: Green Shift
Location: Toronto - West Side, Ontario

We are looking for a smart, confident, business minded environmentalist who can think on their feet and has a keen interest in helping businesses to be more environmentally responsible.

We provide education, assistance and genuine environmental products to businesses coast to coast with a focus on mass use commodity items that otherwise have had devastating impacts on the environment. Our goal is to inspire change and leverage purchasing dollars to push the marketplace toward greater environmental stewardship.

This job involves some of the administration involved in the above, and a lot of communication with regular businesses. As such it is suited for someone who is confident and outgoing, who has a good memory, attention to detail and excellent command of the English language.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Answering phones, entering orders, educating businesses on our products & environmentally related matters
  • Assessing delivery & freight rates
  • Light book-keeping inc. processing invoices, entering payments and following up on any overdue accounts.
  • Misc. general customer service including helping businesses to order where it is most efficient & cost effective, general follow to questions or to provide assistance, handling occasional returns…

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time well
  • Fast & competent on computers with intuitive ability for learning
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to contemplate variables and make educated business decisions
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, working independently, and manage priorities
  • Reliable and dependable for Mon – Fri, 9-5
  • Awareness, care and concern about environmental issues and making the world a better place
  • Proficiency with Excel and Quickbooks (or other accounting software)

Additional Assets:

  • Post-secondary education studying environmental issues or business and/or marketing
  • Previous experience with business to business, preferably with a wholesale distribution company
