Job Title: EPR Program Consultant
Organization: Scout Environmental

Scout Environmental and Greenstreets work cooperatively on Extended Producer Responsibility consulting opportunities surrounding planning, implementation and compliance reporting. The two firms are currently seeking a Program Consultant who will split their time working for the two firms, albeit will be retained solely by Scout Environmental. The role will include a combination of project work and business development. The Program Consultant will be responsible for developing new opportunities for Greenstreets in the field of environmental reporting for Extended Producer Responsibility Programs and work on EPR related projects for Scout Environmental.

Accountability and Reporting

This role reports to the CEO of Scout and the Managing Director of Greenstreets, with project-based line reporting as required.

Responsibilities – Greenstreets

  • Generate new business opportunities across multiple segments, products, and other complex scenarios;
  • Develop a strategic network of business decision makers for an assigned set of accounts;
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of our target markets through research and proposal preparation;
  • Uncover and leverage new account information and industry knowledge to cross-sell and up-sell;
  • Identify where Scout Environmental services can be provided to support Greenstreets; and
  • Build strategic relationships with current and future clients.

Responsibilities – Scout Environmental

  • Undertake project work in the EPR field in support of current clients;
  • Identify opportunities for additional work with existing or potentially new clients;
  • Identifies resource needs and assigns individual responsibilities;
  • Manage tasks within a project ensuring the project meets or exceeds client expectations while staying in scope and on budget;
  • Prepare deliverables for review;
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately;
  • Provides support writing proposals as required by senior staff;
  • Identify where Greenstreets services can be provided to support Scout Environmental; and
  • Ensures project learnings and outcomes are captured, reported for future reference and shared to increase organizational knowledge.

Communications and Stakeholder Management

  • Manages day-to-day interactions with project stakeholders (internal and external) as so appointed by Greenstreets and/or Scout Environmental;
  • Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster ongoing opportunities;
  • Communicates effectively with clients to ensure needs are being met;
  • Participate in regular status meetings with Project Team; and
  • Keeps Project Team members well informed of activities, particularly where they may impact scope, time and budget.

Job Requirements

  • At least five(5) years of industry experience;
  • Hold a degree in a related field (business, environmental studies, marketing);
  • Experience writing proposals;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work cross functionally, source information, obtain approvals, build relationships, and provide sufficient influence to achieve success;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills and the ability to effectively support multiple projects;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Applications;
  • Knowledge of Canadian environmental policy and regulatory landscape.
