Job Title: Sustainable Development Officer

Terms: This is a one year position with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • investigate service needs and gaps
  • identify and develop partnerships
  • conduct basic research and draft papers, submissions and written reports
  • organise events and meetings
  • undertake other tasks and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • advanced knowledge of sustainability principles and practices
  • solid writing experience
  • strong research skills
  • good organisational and time management skills
  • strategic thinker

Additional Qualifications:

  • good knowledge of sustainability principles, activities, advances and advanced theories/practices
  • outstanding communication skills, including verbal and written, and a strategic thinker
  • prompt, courteous, sincere
  • solid online and mobile media skills/knowledge, functional ability with computers, softwares, and mobile platforms
  • advanced undergraduate degree/post?graduate level preferred
  • proficiency in English essential; French, Spanish or an Indigenous language considered an asset
  • a team player with the ability to effectively function independently to meet collaborative goals
  • organised with good time management skills
  • have a keen interest in advancing their skills and experience towards career goals in the key pillars of Crane (sustainability/health/digital) and in the research/policy/action nexus
  • demonstrated interest in ecological sustainability and social justice
  • a keen interest in advancing towards career goals in the key pillars of Crane (sustainability/health/digital) and in the research/policy/action nexus

Eligibility:

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program. The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study.

Reporting: The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director.
