About Textbooks for Change
Textbooks for Change is a social venture and B Corp that provides affordable and accessible educational material to students both locally and abroad.
We repurpose used textbooks to create social impact and improve the educational landscape for students around the world. We do this by:
Donating thousands of post-secondary textbooks to East African universities annually.
Selling affordable used textbooks to North American students and using proceeds to help fund student-led impact initiatives.
Diverting thousands of textbooks from landfills by recycling them efficiently.
Responsibilities and Duties
Our company is based on repurposing post-secondary textbooks. Because of this, the end of the school year in April creates a large influx of donated books to our Hamilton warehouse. We need a two temporary employees to create the right team to help manage the inflow/outflow of these textbooks. This position is a full-time temporary position and is located at 450 Sherman Avenue North in Hamilton, Ontario.
Scanning and sorting textbooks
Tracking metrics of contributed textbooks
Inputting textbooks online and organizing them on shelves
Managing in-house orders and shipments across North America
Qualifications and Skills:
Passionate about social change
Responsible, reliable, and organized
In good health and can lift heavy textbooks
Excellent time management skills
Must be legally allowed to work in the province of Ontario
Experience in a warehouse is an asset but not required
Experience with logistics
