The Land Between is a registered charity that works to conserve the region by the same name, that represents the headwaters of the Traditional Mitchii Saagiig Territory, from the Ottawa Valley to Georgian Bay. The organization is half Indigenous in it’s structure and works to honor the Original Treaties by also honoring Traditional Knowledge and by using Indigenous governance models to ensure transparency and fairness. We are looking to hire an Indigenous youth (under 30) to help with the development of an Indigenous owned and operated Aaniishinabeg Land Trust.
The applicant will be an Indigenous youth and familiar with or interested in Indigenous Traditional Governance, Colonization history, Indigenous Cultural Revitalization and Restoration, Land, Fish and Wildlife Management. Requirements include good writing skills, willing to travel, own vehicle is a benefit, and a post secondary education would be preferred. The position would start immediately and run for 10 months with the possibility for extension and becoming a permanent position
Hours are 30-35 hours/week. Work days are flexible.
